International Women's Day

March 8th is International Women's Day. This year's theme is UNite to End Violence against Women. As part of this effort, the UN Secretary-General has launched a database "on the extent, nature and consequences of all forms of violence against women, and on the impact and effectiveness of policies and programmes for, including best practices in, combating such violence."

Many forced migration organizations work to advance the causes of refugee and internally displaced women. Here are several examples of how some are commemorating International Women's Day:

Thank you for this article, nice to see so many organizations that are helping out women and fighting for their rights. Everyone should be treated equally and thanks to these organisations this is becoming more and more realistic each day.
