Focus on the Americas

On 10 November 2011, the U.S. Institute of Peace hosted an event on "Protecting Refugees and IDPs in the Americas: Update on the Mexico Plan of Action." A brief summary about the meeting was posted on Refugees International's World Bridge Blog. As the latter notes, the event took a step towards implementing recommendations made in the Quito Declaration on the Protection of Persons Displaced and Refugees, which was adopted during last year's Humanitarian Regional Conference.
