Journal-related opportunities: Mentoring/Writing Guidance & CFPs

1. FMR and LERRN are offering a mentorship program that will help new authors prepare articles for publication in FMR's next special issue; here is the announcement:

Do you have an established publication record in forced migration and refugee studies? Do you want to help a new author submit an article to Forced Migration Review? Apply now to be a mentor with the Local Engagement Refugee Research Network (Carleton University) and Forced Migration Review.
  • Help turn an article proposal into a finished article to be submitted to the special issue on “Knowledge, Voice and Power” in Forced Migration Review, one of the leading journals on forced migration.
  • Commit to three hours of mentorship, including both a one hour zoom call and comments on a draft of the mentee’s article.
  • Listen to a ten minute “Guide for Mentors” recording at the start of the mentorship and provide a 20 minute de-brief at the end.
  • Sign a Code of Conduct for mentors.
To apply to be a mentor and receive a small honorarium, please send an email to HeatherAlexander@cunet.carleton.ca by December 13 with your name, your current affiliation, a brief description of any editorial experience or other relevant experience, and your publication record.

2. If you missed the recent webinar on "Writing for FMR," a video recording is now available.
