Climate Migration in Asia & the Pacific - Part 2

Further to my last post, here is a reminder about an upcoming conference sponsored by the Gilbert + Tobin Centre of Public Law at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. The conference, Climate Change and Migration in the Asia-Pacific: Legal and Policy Responses, will "present research by leading international academics and officials from affected countries on climate change and migration/displacement to an Australian audience, with a particular focus on the impacts of climate change in the Pacific region. It will cover themes such as: Conceptualizing climate change-related movement; The nature of movement – what does the evidence tell us?; Legal protection frameworks; 'Migration with dignity'; Relocation and land tenure; Statehood; and Institutional responses." The meeting will run from 10-11 November 2011. Registration is now open.
