The 69th session of the Executive Committee of the High Commissioner's Programme (EXCOM) opened today and will run through 5 October 2018. Here is the preliminary schedule, the provisional agenda, as well as the High Commissioner's opening statement (see also related press release).This year's meeting includes the following side events:
- Upholding rights in mixed movements: challenges and responses
- Exhibition launch of RefugiARTE: an illustrated story on the move
- Solving protracted situations in Africa: the global compact on refugees
- Climate change, conflict and displacement: understanding the nexus
- Mobilizing the private sector in refugee-hosting markets
- A solidarity approach for the people of Rakhine State: the way forward
- Contributing to the global compact on refugees: NGO proposals
- Building momentum: mid-point of the #IBelong campaign

Finally, the Nansen Refugee Award ceremony will be held the evening of the first day, with the honors going to Dr. Evan Atar Adaha, a surgeon and the medical director of Maban Referral Hospital in north-eastern South Sudan.
