New guidelines:

Guidelines on Assessing and Determining the Best Interests of the Child: 2018 Provisional Release (UNHCR, Nov. 2018) [text]
- "These revised BIP Guidelines represent the operationalization of UNHCR’s commitment to the protection of children of concern, and to ensuring that a child’s best interests are a primary consideration in decisions about what actions are in an individual child’s best interests. They aim to better situate the Best Interests Procedure within a holistic approach to child protection case management and to explain how a best interests procedure fits within a comprehensive child protection system. The revised BIP Guidelines aim to strengthen child protection case management for UNHCR’s children of concern, and, ultimately, achieve improved protection outcomes for all children of concern." Note: These guidelines replace both the 2008 BID Guidelines and the 2011 BID Field Handbook.
