News re. US Resettlement:

On 1 November 2019, the White House issued a Presidential Determination on Refugee Admissions for Fiscal Year 2020 that officially set the resettlement cap at 18,000. The State Dept. issued a related press statement the next day. According to the Los Angeles Times, "because Trump delayed signing the order capping refugee admissions for the fiscal year that began Oct. 1," the State Dept. placed a pause on new admissions. This in turn resulted in zero refugees entering the country during the month of October. For reactions and commentary, see the following:
