Admin: Managing Email Subscriptions to Blog Posts

This post provides information for those of you who receive my blog posts by email.

Several subscribers notified me that they were unable to locate an "unsubscribe" option in the emails they received. After conferring with FeedBlitz, the service that manages my email distribution, a glitch was fixed. In each email you receive from my blog, you should now be able to clearly view an "unsubscribe" option at the bottom of the message, as well as a series of other subscription-related options in the footer.

I have also added some general information on email subscriptions to my FAQ.

I hope these fixes do the trick! Apologies for the inconvenience!

“We Are All Activists”: Exploring Solidarities in Activism By, With and For Refugees and Migrants in Hamburg
(transcript Verlag Sept. 2022) [open access]
- "Who is meant when people talk about the citizens or the activists? Often, they are implied to mean the most privileged positionalities. Simultaneously, refugees and migrants tend to be seen through their (supposed) legal status. Thus, they are neither practically nor conceptually regarded as activists. The variety of intersecting positionings in migrant rights activism results in complex inequalities and power dynamics within activist groups. Solidarities are continually challenged, negotiated, and built. Lea Rzadtki develops a conceptual view on claims, challenges, and processes that activists experience and deal with."

Theorizing Local Migration Law and Governance
, Cambridge Univ. Press, Sept. 2022 [open access]
- "In many regions around the world, the governance of migration increasingly involves local authorities and actors. This edited volume introduces theoretical contributions that, departing from the 'local turn' in migration studies, highlight the distinct role that legal processes, debates, and instruments play in driving this development. Drawing on historical and contemporary case studies, it demonstrates how paying closer analytical attention to legal questions reveals the inherent tensions and contradictions of migration governance."
