News: 2016 Global Report on Trafficking in Persons
The UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) launched the 2016 edition of the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons today. It is the third such report. Here is part of the description:
"It covers 136 countries and provides an overview of patterns and flows of trafficking in persons at global, regional and national levels, based primarily on trafficking cases detected between 2012 and 2014. As UNODC has been systematically collecting data on trafficking in persons for more than a decade, trend information is presented for a broad range of indicators."
Unlike past reports, this year's edition includes a chapter on "Human Trafficking, Migration and Conflict": "The thematic chapter of the 2016 edition of the Global Report looks at how migrants and refugees can be vulnerable to trafficking in persons, en route or at destination. It also analyses the particular condition of people escaping war, conflict and persecution."
Visit the report page to access the complete PDF, individual country profiles, annexes and data, as well as the two previous volumes. More information is provided in the press release.

News: Free Access to Journal Articles
It looks like all of SAGE's journals are freely available until the end of January 2017. Apparently, this is part of a promotional effort as they migrate to a new publishing platform.
To take advantage of this offer, visit the main SAGE Journals page, and enter your search terms into the search box. Here's an example: I searched on "refugees," then organized the results by date.
A nice end-of-the-year gift for researchers!
