New Book Titles

I have posted information about several books due to be published in February over on my Pinterest page.  I've also added titles for more books with January 2013 publication dates.  Please note that some of the books are highlighted because they include a relevant chapter on forced migration; I try to point this out in the caption.

As you may have noticed, many publication dates are estimates.  I generally go by the ones indicated on publishers' pages, rather than those noted by Amazon or Google Books.  However, these can slip for various reasons.  When I catch a change, I move the book to the new date category accordingly, so that's why you may see a title popping up in different places!

After analyzing asylum decisions for FY 2012, the TRAC Immigration Project found that the "odds of an asylum claim being denied in Immigration Court reached an historic low..., with only 44.5 percent being turned down. Ten years ago, almost two out of three (62.6%) individuals seeking asylum lost their cases in similar actions. Twenty years ago fewer than one out of four (24.0%) asylum applicants won their cases, while three out of four (76.0%) lost."  More information is available on the project's web site.  See also asylum decisions made on a judge-by-judge basis.
