The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and UNHCR recently held a joint seminar to promote the advancement of gender equality and non-discrimination among asylum-seeking, refugee, internally displaced and stateless women and girls. UNHCR prepared a background paper for the event, entitled "Displacement, Statelessness and Questions of Gender Equality under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women."
