The latest edition of Human Rights Watch's annual human rights survey, World Report 2022: Events of 2021, has been launched. It provides a summary of the human rights situation in nearly 100 countries and territories around the world, and includes assessments [web page; pdf] of climate policies in 22 countries. The introductory essay is entitled "With Autocrats on the Defensive, Can Democrats Rise to the Occasion?."
