UNHCR in conjunction with the Centre for Refugee Research (CRR) at the University of New South Wales, Australia has organized a series of Regional Dialogues with Refugee Women and Girls. Sessions were first held in November 2010 and will continue through May 2011, culminating in presentations made by refugee women representatives at the Annual NGO Consultations and the UNHCR's Standing Committee meeting in June 2011. For more information, here is the Project Description. You can also read brief reports of the India and Colombia dialogues that took place in November 2010 and January/February 2011, respectively.
In parallel with the international dialogues that are taking place, the Centre for Refugee Research is also helping to organize a series of Australian Women's Dialogues between March and May 2011. These sessions will lead to a national Women's Dialogue on 14 June 2011, scheduled to dovetail with a larger conference commemorating the 60th anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention.
