News: Open Access Week 2018

It's that time of year again! Open Access Week runs from 22-28 October 2018. This year's theme is "Design Equitable Foundations for Open Knowledge." In other words, how do we "go beyond addressing inequities in accessing research to address inequities in participating in research as well"?

How does this play out in the forced migration context? One longstanding issue has been the North-South divide in the production of knowledge and the resulting impact on research access and participation. So this week, I plan on highlighting some of the available mechanisms for both producing and discovering Open Access research in the Global South, using forced migration examples wherever possible. To set the stage, however, I will begin with a post that looks at OA trends over the past year.
