The Forced Migration Research Archive (FMRA) was launched last September, and it initially limited what it accepted to postprints of peer-reviewed scholarly research. The narrow focus served a twofold purpose: First, to underscore the importance of green open access as a cost-free strategy for sharing research, unlike gold and hybrid open access which require payment of (often expensive) publication fees. And second, for practical reasons, to allow time to assess FMRA's implications for workload and personnel resources.
While FMRA will continue to advocate for green OA, its overall objective is to highlight the wealth of excellent forced migration-related research that has been made available no matter which open access route was selected. As such, FMRA now also welcomes articles published in gold and hybrid journals; open access books and book chapters; theses and dissertations; and certain forms of grey literature such as research reports, policy briefs and working papers.
If you would like to contribute your research findings to FMRA, the submission form and guidelines are available here.

FMRA is still very much in its infancy, but its ultimate goal is to build up a research collection that showcases the work and dedication of the forced migration research community to assess and seek solutions to the ongoing challenges of displacement. This objective cannot be achieved without your support and participation! Please consider submitting to FMRA and share the benefits of open access with others!
