News: Global Compact for Migration

A "zero draft plus" was issued 5 March 2018 which, according to the co-facilitators, reflects technical updates and clarifications rather than substantive changes. This IISD news story highlights some of the tweaks. (Here is the text of the initial zero draft, for comparison.)

Further discussion of this revised version will take place during the second round of intergovernmental negotiations slated to take place 12-15 March 2018 in New York. Here is a summary of the exchanges that took place during the first round of talks.

As promised in this earlier post, I am happy to announce the launch of a new blog that highlights newly published books! Please visit the "Forced Migration Library" when you have a chance. I have included references for the first three months of 2018.

In addition to highlighting new books, I plan to include references to book reviews as well as eprints of individual chapters.

Two other features on the new blog are a page listing book series and a page listing Open Access titles.

You can view older postings on this blog via the "new books" link. And my Pinterest page is still accessible, even though it is longer being updated.
