The theme of the Commission on Population and Development's 39th session is "international migration and development." Meetings began yesterday in New York. The agenda and background documents are available on the Commission's web page.
Another expert group meeting in preparation for the high-level dialogue on migration and development (see earlier post) is scheduled for mid-May. This one will focus on the Arab region.
On the same topic, the UN Population Division has prepared a "Compendium of Recommendations on International Migration and Development," comparing the UN development agenda and the findings of the Global Commission on International Migration.
