UNHCR has released a new set of statelessness guidelines on "Loss and Deprivation of Nationality under Articles 5-9 of the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness," in order to "provide interpretative guidance for governments, NGOs, legal practitioners, decision-makers and the judiciary, as well as for UNHCR staff and other UN agencies involved in addressing statelessness." More information is provided in the press release.
In addition, UNHCR has published a compilation of "results and highlights" from the High-Level Segment on Statelessness held last October. As noted in the introduction:
"This publication contains a full compendium of the pledges made during the HLS and as such serves as a record that will be helpful in tracking their implementation. It also provides an analysis of the pledges that gives an indication to the international community concerning progress that can be expected in various areas during the remainder of the #IBelong Campaign."
