Audiovisual: Asylum/Japan, Effectiveness of Intl. Aid, Human Trafficking, Rwanda

UNHCR and the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) sponsored a symposium on "Asylum in Japan: Protection, Assistance and Integration," May 19th. This press release provides a brief summary of the discussions. A webcast of the proceedings is also available.

On May 13th, the UN General Assembly held an Interactive Thematic Dialogue on the "Taking Collective Action to End Human Trafficking." Visit the web page for statements, programme and archived video of the event.

The New Yorker recently published an article on the reconstruction and reconciliation process in Rwanda. Listen to a podcast of the author describing what it was like to return to Rwanda after more than a decade.
