This year's meeting includes the following side events:

- Challenges and responses along the central Mediterranean route
- Addressing disaster displacement and climate change: Opportunities in partnership
- A new partnership at work: UNHCR and the World Bank Group
- Refugee emergencies: Are we ready to respond?
- Rethinking the refugee response in Kenya
- 1967 Protocol at fifty: Protection and solutions in a new era?
Finally, the Nansen Refugee Award ceremony will be held the evening of the first day, with the honors going to Mr. Zannah Mustapha, a lawyer, school-founder and peace-maker from north east Nigeria.
