IOM will select a new director general tomorrow to replace William Lacy Swing. The three candidates under consideration are: 1) Mr. Ken Isaacs, nominated by the United States, 2) Ms. Laura Thompson, nominated by Costa Rica (currently the Deputy Director General of IOM), and 3) Mr. Antonio Vitorino, nominated by Portugal. IOM has traditionally been led by an American; however, this year's U.S. nominee has a track record of making anti-Muslim statements.
