GCM:
The sixth and final round of Intergovernmental Negotiations on the Global Compact for Migration began today and will end on Friday, 13 July 2018. Delegations will spend the first two days discussing the third draft of the Global Compact which was released on 29 June 2018 (this SDG Knowledge Hub article notes some of the changes in the text). A final text will then be circulated on Wednesday, 11 July 2018, for concluding deliberations. As noted in the co-facilitators' letter, "the agreed draft Global Compact [will then be transmitted] to the Intergovernmental Conference for adoption in Morocco on
10 and 11 December 2018."
GCR:
The final draft of the Global Compact on Refugees was presented at the sixth and final consultation on the Global Compact on Refugees, held 3-4 July 2018. (This SDG Knowledge Hub article highlights some of the remaining issues that needed to be addressed; other comments have been posted on UNHCR's GCR web page. See also the NGO intervention on the final draft.) Here is the HC's statement and the AHC's opening and closing remarks. The latter sets out the subsequent steps to be taken in this process: "We will send out to you all the final proposed global compact ahead of its official submission before the end of July. The official version of the High Commissioner’s report in the six official languages will be made available by the UN Secretariat around mid-September. It will then be considered, in conjunction with the annual omnibus resolution on global refugee matters that will be developed here in Geneva first, by the General Assembly at the end of October."
