African Union Meetings: Human Trafficking, IDPs

Two back-to-back African Union meetings are scheduled over the next few days. The first is the "AU Regional Consultative Meeting on Implementation of the Outcomes of the AU Special Summit on Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons in Africa," to be held in Kinshasa on 20-21 May 2011. For more information, here is the draft agenda, draft programme, and a concept note, entitled "Addressing Challenges of Forced Displacement and Humanitarian Situations of Affected Populations on the Continent."

Next up is the "Operationalizing the Ouagadougou Action Plan to Combat Trafficking In Human Beings Especially Women and Children: Communication, Information and Awareness Rising as Tools for Prevention and Protection Against Trafficking in Human Beings and Smuggling of Migrants." This meeting will be held in Arusha on 24-25 May 2011. Here is the draft agenda.
