The Regional Dialogues with Refugee Women and Girls culminated in Geneva in June 2011, when a team of 10 refugee and IDP women presented at the UNHCR/NGO Consultations. Here is a recap of the process. In addition, a report has just been produced that "summarizes what women and girls reported and suggested during the Dialogues, encapsulating the problems, solutions, hopes and dreams of the participants." Another initiative supporting refugee women and girls is "16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence," a campaign that runs annually from Nov. 25 to Dec. 10, or from the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to International Human Rights Day. Follow Refugees International's blog postings, UNHCR's news stories, and the Women's Refugee Commission's call to action.
